HDEC 102 - Health, Safety and Nutrition

(3.0 credits)

This course examines methods of sound health, safety, and nutrition practice in Human Services and Education settings that involve caring for and education of children from birth to eighteen years of age. Particular attention is given to the promotion and modelling of a healthy, safe environment through management and prevention. This course will encourage reflection of personal health, safety, and nutritional issues as they apply to Early Childhood Educators and Education Assistant Professionals.

Non-Course Prerequisites: Admission to the Education Assistant or Early Childhood Education and Care programs (including Section “D” students as noted in the Admissions’s statement of the Completion Guide).
Restrictions: Must be in ECE/EA/Human Svcs program (ECEC2/ECEC2.WIL/HSPD1/EDAS2)
