ESTR 037 - Intermediate-Level Essential Skills for Trades (120 contact hours)
Strong essential skills are critical for student success in NLC’s Foundation Trades programs. This course imparts Intermediate-Level Essential Skills for NLC Foundational Trades that require Grade 10 ability. Skills in reading test and document use are acquired through an emphasis on numeracy and science, including whole numbers, decimals, fractions, percentages, ratio and proportion, measurement and conversion, geometry, and mechanical science.
Prerequisites: (1) Minimum “C” or equivalent in ENGL 026 or in English Language Arts 9 or Intermediate-Level placement on the CCP English Assessment AND (2) Minimum “C” or equivalent in MATH 026 or in Mathematics 9 or Intermediate-Level placement on the CCP Math Assessment. Restrictions: Must have been admitted to an NLC program.
