ESTR 047 - Advanced-Level Essential Skills For Trades

(60 contact hours)

Strong Essential Skills are critical for student success in NLC’s Foundational Trades programs. This course imparts Advanced-Level Essential Skills for NLC Foundational Trades that require Grade 11 and 12 ability. Building on skills in numeracy, reading text, document use, and mechanical science, this course covers trigonometry, chemistry, and thermal/electrical energy.

Prerequisites: Minimum 67% in ESTR 037.  Alternatively, (1) Minimum “C” or equivalent in ENGL 030 or in any English Language Arts 10 course or Advanced-Level placement on the CCP English Assessment  AND (2) Minimum “C” or equivalent in one of MATH 030, MATH 031 or MATH 035 or in Mathematics 10, or Advanced-Level placement on the CCP Math Assessment.

 
Restrictions: Must have been admitted to an NLC program.
