ARCH 230 - Introduction to Archaeological Heritage Management


(3.0 credits)

Archaeological Heritage Management is an introduction to the professional process of archaeological fieldwork in British Columbia. Students will review regulation and legislation as well as field methods and standards of practice. Students will become familiar with the tools of the trade and the process by which archaeological projects are planned, carried out, and cleared by regulators.  They will also learn how to do fieldwork in ways that honour and respect the heritage and traditions of Indigenous peoples.

Prerequisites: ARCH 200  or SOIL 117  recommended, not required
