Millwright Apprenticeship

Program Description

Millwrights dismantle, move, install, change layout, set-up, repair, overhaul and maintain all machinery and heavy mechanical equipment, including power shafting, pulleys, conveyors and hoists. They work from plans and blueprints and install equipment using hand tools, power tools, and hoisting equipment. Millwrights use grinders and lathes to make customized parts and construct machinery foundations.

The Millwright Apprenticeship Training Program includes levels 1-4 of the ITA prescribed Apprenticeship training.

  1. The program is not eligible for Canada Student Loans.
  2. Students must provide safety equipment, including footwear having CSA safety-toe protection and CSA safety glasses with clear lenses, gloves, coveralls, etc.
  3. The program is affiliated with the Industry Training Authority and Program Advisory Committee.
