The Advanced Certificate in Management is designed for current managers, volunteers and other individuals who are interested in developing their leadership skills while they are working. To supplement existing education and work experience, the program addresses management concepts such as accounting, business law, entrepreneurship, human resource management, and project management. The curriculum is relevant across a wide variety of employment sectors, public, private, and non-profit.

Career Prospects
The objective of this program is to enhance skills and employment opportunities for graduates interested in advanced management positions. Relevant fields include childcare or resource program administration, educational administration, executive coaching, human resource management, municipal or provincial governance, natural resource management, and trades management. Intakes All required courses are available both face-to-face and online. Not all elective courses are available online. Online study is available on a part-time basis only. Full-time study can be obtained through a combination of online and face-to-face courses. Length
30 credits (450 hours), minimum. Full time students who begin the program in September can complete within two semesters or 30 weeks of study. A. Domestic students and students from countries that practice Standard Written English (see Appendix A) must have official transcripts demonstrating that they have met the English Requirements: One of the following with a “C” grade or higher: English 12 or English Literature 12 or English First Peoples 12, ENGL 050 , or ENGL 099 . Alternatively, any university-level English course with a “C” grade or higher. Students who do not meet one of the above English requirements must complete the NLC Writing Assessment for appropriate course placement. B. International students who do not meet the requirement A. above, and domestic students who received their secondary education in French or another language, must show that they have met the NLC English requirement: see Appendix A (General Academic English Language Proficiency Requirements) C. One of the following requirements must be satisfied: - Official transcripts demonstrating graduation from a post-secondary certificate, diploma, or degree program; - Official transcripts demonstrating certification from a Red Seals Trades program or equivalent program; - Two years of management or leadership work experience as demonstrated by a resume with two professional references; or, - Two current professional letters of reference written and dated within a year of application outlining the applicant’s suitability and readiness for the program. Note that some course options have specific prerequisites. Meeting the program entrance requirements does not ensure course prerequisites have been met for all available courses. Important Notes

Ready access to a computer with a reliable internet connection is essential for all students, regardless of their chosen delivery model. A basic familiarity with Microsoft Office applications is also recommended. -
Course transfer agreements allow students to receive course-by-course transfer to other colleges, universities, and institutes in BC, as indicated in the BC Transfer Guide. Program Requirements
