HDEC 100 - Essential Skills for Human Service Workers

(3.0 credits)

This introductory course will focus on foundational skills for students in the human services fields, with an emphasis on the theory and practice of written communication. the research essay, APA style, observation/assessment tools and basic workplace communication methods will be covered.

Co-Requisites: None (may be taken concurrently with HDEC 101  , HDEC 104  , HDEC 103  , ECED 109A  , ECTA 121, or ECED 101 ).
Non-Course Prerequisites: Criminal Record Check Schedule B works with “children” or works with “children and vulnerable adults”
Restrictions: Must be in ECE/EA/Human Svcs program (ECEC2/ECEC2.WIL/HSPD1/EDAS2)
