ESTR 037 - Essential Skills for Trades - Intermediate Level

Strong essential skills are critical for student success in NLC’s Foundational Trades programs. This course imparts Intermediate-Level Essential Skills for NLC’s Foundational Trades programs that require a Grade 10 ability. Reading text and document use skills are acquired through by emphasizing numeracy and science, including whole numbers, decimals, fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions, measurement and conversion, geometry, and mechanical science.

Prerequisites:

One of:
- ‘C’ or higher in ENGL 026 or higher
- ‘C’ or higher in English 9 or higher
- Intermediate Level Placement or higher on the CCP Assessment of English Skills
And one of:
- ‘C’ or higher in MATH 026 or higher
- C’ or higher in Math 9 or higher
- Intermediate Level Placement or higher on the CCP Assessment of Math Skills

Restrictions: Must have been admitted to an NLC program.
