ESTR 043 - Essential Skills for Trades: Preparation for Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (120 contact hours)
A strong essential skills foundation is crucial for students interested in pursuing a career in trades. This course imparts essential skills for Automotive Service Technician, addressing such topics as reading text, document use, and numeracy including whole numbers, fractions, percents, geometry, measurement, data analysis and algebra. Successful completion of ESTR 043 satisfies the academic admission requirements for NLC’s Aircraft Maintenance Engineering program.
Non-Course Prerequisites: - Grade 9 completion or equivalent performance on the CCP English and Math Appraisals.
- Reliable internet and computer access.
- Identification of a Trade of interest.
- Minimum 17 years of age when program starts. Restrictions: Must be in the Career & College Preparation Essesntial Skills Program.
