SSWD 220 - Practicum and Seminar (3.0 credits)
Students will demonstrate human service worker competency in knowledge, skills and values through the integration of seminar concepts in a practicum setting. During the practicum placement students will develop and apply their skills as helping professionals by directly engaging in supervised practice work. Individualized learning goals and objectives will be developed to suit the students’ personal interests and learning needs.
Prerequisites: SSWD 110 (opens in a new tab) , SSWD 120 (opens in a new tab) , and SSWD 210 (opens in a new tab) or permission of the Chair. Non-Course Prerequisites: Students must have a minimum program cumulative GPA of 2.33 (C+) to register for SSWD-220; students must have a current CRC filed with the Registrar’s Office. Restrictions: Must be in Social Services Worker Diploma Program (SSWD2).
