Career and College Preparation - Advanced Level Certificate

Career and College Preparation provides the environment and resources for adults to acquire the knowledge necessary for successful entry into the labour market, advancement in careers, entry into further specialized training or enhance personal development.
Independent, self-directed learning is encouraged.
The goals for this level are to provide students with highly portable learning skills and abilities in analytical thinking, mathematics, communications, and sciences.
The Advanced Level student (approximately grade 11 coursework) is encouraged to discuss career paths with an Admissions Officer prior to registration and as needed during the term. The College will endeavour to match the study program to individual career goals.
The program includes English, choice of math courses, accounting, biology, chemistry, physics, computer studies, and social studies. Courses may be face-to-face instructor-led, or delivered at a distance via video conference or web conference or student-directed with instructor support

Admission Requirements

18 years of age or older; or

17 years of age and out of school for at least one year; or

By special arrangement with the School District.
Note: There is no maximum age.

- The program is not eligible for Canada Student Loans, however fees and textbook funding may be available through the Adult Upgrading Grant (AUG).
