PNUR 112 - Health Promotion 1 (30 contact hours)
This introductory course will increase the learners understanding of health promotion within the Canadian context. This includes health enhancement, health protection, disease prevention, health restoration/recovery, care and support. Knowledge of growth and development, health inequities and determinants of health will support the Practical Nurse to provide culturally appropriate and holistic care.
Prerequisites: Admission to the Practical Nursing Program.
PNUR 099 Human Anatomy and Physiology for Practical Nurses with a minimum grade of C+ or equivalent. Co-Requisites: PNUR 110 Professional Communication 1, PNUR 111 Professional Practice 1, PNUR 113 Variations in Health 1, PNUR 114 Pharmacology 1, and PNUR 115 Integrated Nursing Practice 1
Restrictions: Must be in the Practical Nurse Diploma Program (PNUR2).
