PNUR 113 - Variations in Health 1 (40 contact hours)
This introductory course provides learners with the foundations of disease and illness across the lifespan. Learners will gain an understanding of pathophysiological alterations of body systems. Nursing management of disease and illness across the lifespan with an emphasis on interventions and treatment is also discussed. Cultural diversity in healing practices will be explored as well as the incorporation of evidenced informed practice.
Prerequisites: Admission to the Practical Nursing Program
PNUR 099 with a minimum grade of C+ or equivalent. Co-Requisites: PNUR 110 Professional Communication 1 , PNUR 111 Professional Practice 1, PNUR 112 Health Promotion 1, PNUR 114 Pharmacology 1, and PNUR 115 Integrated Nursing Practice 1 Restrictions: Must be in the Practical Nurse Diploma Program (PNUR2).
